The launch of a new initiative, the Retech Innovation Challenge was announced by Odisseas Athanasiou, the CEO of LAMDA Development, at the of Disrupt Greece event on Tuesday 25 September, at the Benaki Museum.
This new initiative of Lamda Development, aspires to disrupt the Retail market and create a dynamic innovation community based on technology.
During his one-on-one interview with Anastasia Paretzoglou, Odisseas Athanasiou mentioned among others:
“This entrepreneurship competition will become a “bridge” between LAMDA Development and startup entrepreneurship, will contribute in the transformation of the malls into modern hubs of innovation and technology, will attract new stakeholders, and will strengthen the relationship between us and our tenants and our millions of visitors, as we invite new entrepreneurs to submit their business proposals. More specifically, we invite them at our shopping malls to exhibit their ideas, we bring together the startups with the companies that are our tenants at the malls, and we promote new ideas and new business models”.
ReTech Innovation Challenge contest focuses mostly on innovative ideas in the fields of Retail, Food & Entertainment, and Mall Services and will take place at Lamda Development’s Shopping Centers. The teams will be evaluated by market representatives, investors and entrepreneurs with significant experience and will have the opportunity to learn from real case studies of the Retail market.
The finalists will have the chance to present their proposals to a large audience, through special booths at The Mall Athens, Golden Hall and Mediterranean Cosmos. The winner’sawards will be among others: financial support, mentoring and coaching services for their business idea.
The terms and details of the contest will be announced on October 29th, when the initiative will be official launched via a microsite. The ReTech Innovation Challenge will be presented to the public with a major event on February at The Mall Athens.
