PRESS RELEASE
The CEO of the LAMDA Development Group, Mr. Labros Anagnostopoulos, addressed a speech by putting emphasis on the countrys natural infrastructures development towards a European direction
The presence of the LAMDA Development Group was significant in the 7th Government Roundtable of the Economist
The CEO of the LAMDA Development Group, Mr. Lambros Anagnostopoulos addressed a speech within the framework of the 7th Government Round Table that was organized by the Economist with the subject Leadership Strategy for the strengthening of Euro-Atlantic Relations: The role of Europe and USA in Politics, Economy and Businesses.
Mr. Anagnostopoulos referred to the contemporary character of the leadership within the framework of the world business stage by giving examples from the international and domestic business reality. More specifically, he explained the reasons of the negative conjuncture of the international economy by stressing out that the macroeconomic sizes, inflation or debts are not the real causes; on the contrary, the lack of vision and guidance, the lack of leadership are. In particular, he expressed the opinion that the businesses, which have clear visions, goals and strategy can revert the negative situation. In specific, modern enterprises will be able to meet the needs of investors and shareholders if the above elements will be the compass in the procedures both of taking daily business decisions and setting out their perspectives.
At the same time, he talked about the business strategy, vision and philosophy of the LAMDA Development Group, which are set according to the contemporary directions of the leadership and entrepreneurship. He characteristically stated: Within this framework, we began to work in LAMDA Development three years ago with the objective to invest in the development of the Greek and SE European infrastructures
because we believe that we are in the golden decade of infrastructures development
Our vision is the vision of Greece having natural infrastructures equivalent to European ones... Our business objective is not only to offer better services and improved products
but also to change the form of our market and our country.
Within the framework of re-establishing the trust between a company and its public, except for setting clear strategic goals and visions, two more factors are required: the upright management and the corporate governance. Mr. L. Anagnostopoulos mentioned indicatively some of the practices, which lead towards this direction and the LAMDA Development Group has adopted since its establishment. Some of these practices are the business action within a multi-stock framework, the constant communication with the shareholders, the employment of specialized personnel, the internal audit, the simple and horizontal corporate structure, as well as the prudence in the use of Mass Media, etc.
