A market of great prospects for development
The market of ground handling operations shows great prospects for development throughout Europe, but also within Greece where the market has been liberalized since 1999. Swissport Hellas opens a market with great development prospects not only due to the operation of the new airport in Spata, but also because of the anticipated increase in tourism arising from the staging of the year 2004 Olympic games in Athens.
Swissport Hellas provides ground and flight operation services to airports and aircrafts of all types. Specifically it undertakes passenger, baggage, cargo and mail handling services, as well as all other procedures: flight scheduling, arrivals, departures, check in, lost and found, management of business class services, etc. Overall, Swissport Hellas provides the entire infrastructure, services and equipment required by any air transportation.
Since June 1st 2000, Swissport Hellas provides such services to the Hellenicon Airport to companies such as Swissair, Sabena and Virgin Atlantic. Moreover, Swissport Hellas has participated in the bid of the new Athens airport Eleftherios Venizelos and has been awarded one of the three licenses for the ramp, baggage, flight and mail.
