LAMDA Development sponsors "Challenger"world beach volley championship

LAMDA Development sponsored the EVGA 2001 “Challenger” world championship held at Xylokastro, Corinthia in early July.

The championship was organised by the Municipality of Xylokastro in an attempt to highlight both the sport and the area, which is located in a major tourist resort. The attempt had the backing of LAMDA Development, whose subsidiary company DIMOURGIA S.A. is active in the area having undertaken the development of a 200-apartment tourist complex in Xylokastro, with a budget of GRD 4 billion.

One of the project’s principal advantages is its location, since it adjoins property belonging to the Municipality of Xylokastro on which sports facilities were recently developed – it is here that the championships were hosted – and a marina for sailing and leisure craft.

Given its active presence in the area and the particular emphasis it places on the sporting spirit, LAMDA Development recognizes the importance to local society of the organization of such sports events. It offers its support for the effort made by the Municipality of Xylokastro and its congratulations to the Mayor, Mr Dimitrios Skouras, and the athletes who contributed to the event’s excellent organisation.
