Lamda Development: The Winners of ReTech Innovation Challenge
On February 21st, the final battle of the ReTech Innovation Challenge, the innovation contest launched by Lamda Development, took place with great success.
The ten finalists presented their business proposals at a “live challenge” at The Mall Athens.
Welcoming the guests, Odisseas Athanasiou, CEO of Lamda Development, referred to the important changes being brought by new technologies.
“The new digital culture and new technologies are changing the structure of companies, the way we work, even our everyday lives. We already experience this significant change which has also affected the traditional retail industry. The digital transformation has disrupted every sector of the Greek economy, and the retail market is no exception.”
Commenting on Lamda Development’s initiative to embrace the ecosystem of innovation and startup entrepreneurship, Odisseas Athanasiou added: “We have invited startups with fresh new ideas to submit their business proposals in the sectors of Retail, Food & Entertainment and Mall Services. ReTech Innovation Challenge aspires to bring innovation and new technologies into our shopping centers and be a part of the disruption process that is already taking place in the retail market globally.”

During the event, guests had the opportunity to watch the on-stage speech of Patrick Dixon, one of the top business thinkers in the world today, with great influence on new technologies on the retail marketplace. With incredible energy on stage, Dixon’s presentation focused on the evolution of retail in the years to come.
Following the live on-stage “battle” in front of both judges and the audience, which also had the chance to evaluate the ten finalists through a voting app, the winners of the ReTech Innovation Challenge were:
- First Award:
Perikles Galanakis and Kyriakos Agiannides of MOJOOLS
Their web platform provides to customers, for the first time globally, the ability of designing and creating a jewelry, by using technologies like 3d printing, combined with 3d design and 3d scanning.
- Second Award:
Thomas Anastaselos of Orderstate
The platform gives the ability to watch an order from the beginning, up until its final delivery. It is an easy way of collaboration between its members.
- Third Award:
Georgios Fotopoulos of House ID
It is the first curated platform that shows online, all the upscale and high quality products that already exist in stores throughout the city.
ReTech Innovation Challenge, launched and hosted by Lamda Development, has been organized in collaboration with Lamda’s strategic partner, Industry Disruptors Game Changers (ID – GC).
