Major presence of LAMDA Development and HEPHAESTUS HELLAS SHIPBUILDING S.A. at the Economist Conference

LAMDA Development and its subsidiary HEPHAESTUS HELLAS SHIPBUILDING S.A. were the sponsors of the 3rd International Conference on “Shipping & Maritime Transportation in the Global Economy”, which took place at the Divani Apollon Palace Hotel in Kavouri on 4th and 5th October, 2001.

The Shipping Conference, organised for the third time this year by the Economist Conferences, looked at the role of shipping in the global economy. During the conference sessions, top officials from the shipping world attended a number of interesting meetings and had the opportunity to exchange views and discuss some thorny issues.

Official guests and speakers at the Conference included the Merchant Marine Minister, Mr Christos Papoutsis, and the President of the New Democracy Party, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, whose speeches addressed a number of key issues concerning Greek shipping today.

LAMDA Development and HEPHAESTUS HELLAS SHIPBUILDING S.A., the enterprises backing the conference, have proved once again that in a constantly changing business climate they are at the forefront of developments, thereby making an active contribution to further growth in Greek shipping - a basic factor in the country’s economy.
