Lamda Development announces that the building permit for the Riviera Tower has been issued, thus marking the commencement of construction work on the emblematic Tower at the Coastal Front of the Ellinikon.
The building permit for the tallest building in Greece (200m) was a particularly complex process, as a large number of special approvals was required (such as from the Civil Aviation Authority, the Central Council of Architecture, the Hellenic Fire Service Headquarters etc) and needed more than 1,900 designs. The Ministry of Environment and Energy and the General Secretariat of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, the Ministry of Development, the Ellinikon Office, the Directorate of Architecture, Building Regulations and Licensing (DAOKA), the Central Council of Architecture (KESA), the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection with the Hellenic Fire Brigade Headquarters, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the General Secretariat of Infrastructure, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE) participated in this process.
The architectural design has been carried out by the international architectural office of “Foster+Partners” in cooperation with ”Alexandros N. Tombazis and Associates Architects SA”. Accordingly, the static and electromechanical studies have been prepared by Buro Happold based in London, with the assistance of local partners, “DETA CONSULTING ENGINEERS” for statics and “TEKEM SA” for electromechanical studies. The design of the landscaping has been prepared by the company ”DOXIADIS PLUS”.
The CEO of Lamda Development, Odisseas Athanasiou, said: ”I would like to thank all the services of the Greek State for their prompt and effective contribution for the issuance of the highly complex building permit of the Riviera Tower, the tallest building in Greece. Another important step towards the rapid completion of the first phase of the Ellinikon has been completed”.
