Swissport Hellas Sud S.A. was assigned the airport ground handling services project of Heraklion airport

Another important project for LAMDA Development S.A.

It was selected as one of the three companies for the project

Following the decision by the Ministry of Transport & Communication on December 28th 2000, Swissport Hellas Sud S.A. has been selected as one of the three companies that will be providing the State Airport of Heraklion – Nikos Kazantzakis with ground handling services. The selection was made after an official tender. Swissport Hellas Sud S.A.’ s major stockholder Swissport LAMDA Hellas S.A. is a company in which LAMDA Development S.A. participates with 50%.

Swissport Hellas Sud S.A. has been assigned to provide the airport of Heraklion with airport ground handling services, which include:

  • Aircraft services on the ramp

  • Baggage transportation and administration

  • Ground and supervision administrative services

  • Passenger services

  • Aircraft cleaning and maintenance services

  • Flight and crew management services

In less than one year of operation, Swissport Hellas Sud S.A. has succeeded, in being assigned a project of major significance at the second largest airport in Greece.

Swissport Hellas Sud S.A. was founded in February 2000 with its main objective to provide the airports of southern Greece with ground handling services. After Heraklion it is planning to extend its activities to the State Airport of Rhodes as well as other airports in Crete.
Shareholders in the company are Swissport LAMDA Hellas S.A. with 75% and AVIAREPS Hellas S.A. with 25%. Share capital amounts to 100.000.000 GRD.

This enables the company to provide integrated services and solutions which meet the demands of its airport clientele.
