Undertaking of a supporting sponsorship of the first training journey of the MITs (American institute) students to Greece and Turkey
LAMDA Development Group supports a unique initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
It is a great honor of LAMDA Development to support a significant programme of the Bostons MIT university. It is about the first training journey of the students of the MIT Sloan School of Management to Greece and Turkey during the period of March 19th to 30th 2003.
The journey was organized on the Greek and Turkish students initiative and was financed by the MIT and large private companies among which LAMDA Development Group - that provided their financial support.
Tomorrow, on Thursday March 27th, the participants will have the opportunity to visit Latsis Groups offices in Kifissia where a presentation of the companies of LAMDA Development Group and of its activities in the infrastructures development in our country as well as a discussion of the companys direction towards its business expansion in the wider area of South-Eastern Europe will take place.
Mr. Lambros Anagnostopoulos, the CEO of LAMDA Development Group, stated characteristically: On our companys behalf, the specific sponsorship is within the framework of supporting the significant initiatives of reputable organizations, like the MIT. Our contribution to an effort that promotes our countrys business activities is very important, whilst our successful cooperation with the eminent university MIT is of our particular satisfaction. The fact that 4 graduates of the MIT Sloan School are employed in LAMDA Development Group is characteristic.
The journeys objective is the expansion of the business opportunities in the wider area of South-Eastern Europe as well as of the business partnership between Greece and Turkey through meetings between the executives of the two countries large private companies. Within this framework, the 20 students that participate, have made detailed researches of the companies they intend to visit and they have also attended a special seminar regarding the financial situation and the progress of the domestic and Turkish market.
The MITs delegation will be in our country between March 24th - 30th. During their stay, the students will be in touch with the executives of significant Greek private companies that have sponsored the programme and are activated in important sectors of the Greek economy: industry, shipping, banking sector and real estate market.
The journeys programme also includes visits to the offices of the Athens 2004 Organizational Committee while in the following days a meeting with the Mayor of Athens, Mrs Dora Bakogianni will be held.
